Downloads A five page response to the movie Religulous by BIll Maher For info on the movie click here Introduction Very early in 2009 the DVD Religulous became available for rental in the Blockbuster outlets, and judging from the difficulty in obtaining an available rental copy at two different outlet stores in Southeast Denver (both relatively near the University of Denver campus; 11 copies in one store; 12 in the other), the DVD was very popular. An intense research project was undertaken from March – June 200 to evaluate the validity of the information contained in the DVD. The Ira J. Taylor library at the Iliff School of Theology was the primary location of the research. A 35-page report was written which summarized succinctly the results of the research and the efforts that were made to communicate these results to Bill Maher (principal actor and producer). This effort was done via Lionsgate Films, Inc. (Santa Monica, CA), the distributor of the DVD. Most of the 35-page report consisted of 22 pages of typed notes prepared from the literary sources. The abbreviated report that was sent to Bill Maher for his review and response consisted of five pages. Two pages were a succinct summary of the findings, and three pages listed all of the references consulted. Included also was a one-page cover letter of explanation that was addressed to Bill Maher, sent in care of Lionsgate. As of March 2010, no word has been heard from either Lionsgate or from Bill Maher. This website contains the five-page abbreviated report that was sent to Bill Maher. All research and all reports ( five-page and 35-page) were prepared by Sachem LFBM in the Spring/Summer of 2009. The material is copyrighted. This five-page report is made available on the In Spirit and Truth Christian Fellowship website as a gesture of the church’s outreach to the community.
